God's Kindness - Part 1

God created this world with passion. After he created the world he felt something missing in it. Then he realised that he had not created anything that resembled him. Thats when God created Adam.

Genesis 2:7 says, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

In the subsequent verses it is said God created the rivers and then he made the garden of Eden. God gave adam charge over it. He also created all animals and birds and made Adam to name them. Do we see a earthly father's touch here. Yes Father God created man in his own image. But God  had warned  man not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Then he gave Adam a companion. She was created from his own rib bone. But very soon they were to live a life away from God. Adam and Eve commit the first sin of the world.

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

This is how sin was introduced into this world. They started hiding from God, because they could not face him. Sin made them guilty and they wanted to hide from God. Even though they were Gods favorite creation they walked away from him. They were thrown out of the Garden of Eden. Imagine the pain God would have had when he found out about their disobedience. Thus all mankind began to be born in sin and the fruit of sin was death. The eternal life which God had gifted to Adam and Eve was lost because they walked away from God. But God had everything written before the world was created. He could not lose his precious creation to this sinful world.

How then did God decide to bring back his people from death to eternal life?

Romans 3: 22 to 25: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference   23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. Amen

So when sin came into this world by one man, God had victory over sin by giving his own son as a sacrifice on the cross of calvary. He shed his precious blood to save each one of us from death. But the eternal life is promised to only those who accept Jesus as their personal saviour. Does it end there? No. To be like God we need to be his temple. How do we become his temple? Its through baptism that we die with Jesus and we become new. When we become new and our past is buried with Jesus, then we get the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit God begins to dwell in us. He will talk to us, comfort us, walk with us, teach us and guide us.

Many of you may not agree to Holy Spirit dwelling in us because its way beyond human comprehension to understand the language of God. Why is it so necessary to have the guidance of Holy Spirit in our lives? Let’s take a small example here. If we had to visit a friend who is living in a very big city. We just know he resides  there. We do not have details of his whereabouts. We can definitely find him. But we may get lost while trying. While getting lost several times we may lose heart and forget about him. And then our priority may change and we may stop looking for him.

It’s the same with our lives. In our quest to live in this world we tend to forget our creator. We stop thinking about HIM, stop spending time with HIM and ultimately lose our priority. What happens when we go away from God? We start to walk in the ways of this world. The things of this world start giving us pleasure. It gives us everything. But still we are searching for something. We still dont get an answer for many things in our life. We are walking towards our own grave because we are living in flesh.

Romans 1:21to 25 : "21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen

God gives us the power to be with him so that we do not fall into sin.

Psalms 73:26: "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever".
2 Timothy 4:18 says: "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen

The world that we live in gives us so many oppurtunities to walk away from God our creator. There are several methods that the enemy has crafted to steal souls from our God. We all tend to fall one time or the other. The enemy is always trying with all his might to bring God’s kingdom down. Whether we realize it or not we are all part of this till the time we live in flesh. Even when we walk in flesh, we have great riches in this world. We may be blessed with many things in our lives: good job, good family, good finance, good friends and fame. We are completely lost because we do not have any difficulties in life. We are happy and contend with what we have. But we are forgetting something here. We are taking our step towards our grave, the eternal fire of the hell.

Why do I say this? Its because we never found time to be with our savior. We were happy with what we had in this world. In our quest to live a peaceful, joyful and funfilled life in this world we forgot to invest a part of our life for the life after, eternal life. Now at this point I would like to point my thoughts to bible. Let’s go to Luke 16 which gives us a revelation about what we would be doing if we went to eternal fire and not to eternal life.

Luke 16: 19 to 31: 19  There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21  And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

In the above verses we can see a rich man who had all glory of this world with him. He had his friends, he had his riches, he had a good family and everything he could dream of he had in his hands reach. We also see a beggar named Lazarus, who was at the rich man’s gate. He was covered with wound all over his body and dogs were licking at his wounds. He was living from the left overs that he got from the rich man’s table. Such a pathetic life when we look at it from our earthly perspective. The poor man dies and it is said that he is lifted by angel’s (not just and angel) to heaven and he is rested on Abrahams lap. How lucky he is. But the word also says the rich man died and he was buried. This is what we should really put our thoughts to. The way the rich man and the poor man were received after their death is different.

Because of the torment that the poor man had in this world he was always talking to God. He was always asking God to take away the burden from his life. Whereas the rich man never had time to pray. He had everything he wanted.

In verse 23 it says “and in hell he lifed up his eyes”. What a pathetic situation to be in. My dear ones. This is the reality. When we don’t find time for our God in this world, we have to go to hell. From there we lift up our eyes and call out to him becausethe torment there is too hard for us to bear. We cannot sit without fan or AC even at night when the sun is down. How then do you think you can survive in the flames of hell. Oh what a pity. He pleads to Abraham to send the poor man so that he can take water in his tip and put it on his tongue. But Abraham says theres a big barrier between where the rich man is and where Lazarus is. And no one can move from hell to heaven or viceversa.

What do we see from verse 27? He is pleading Abraham to send Lazarus to his father’s house so that his brothers are saved. Oh what a pity. He cannot imagine his own brothers undergoing this torment in hell. He is pleading. My dear ones. This is the same with all of us. Our ancestors who did not know about God are pleading from hell for us. And to save us from perishing in the eternal fire God is sending his disciples to teach people about the truth in the bible. But my dear friends, many of us are hard hearted or even shy to accept God as our personal savior.

I want to explain the above paragraphs in simple words. Just imagine that we are not living a life in Christ. We have not taught our kids to know about our savior. When we die we will be thrown into eternal flame. There we will realize that we did not do enough for our kids. We made so much of money and investments. But all that can bring them comfort for say 90years in this world. But when they die they have to undergo the same torment that we are going through. Oh what a pity? Our own child whom we love so much, how could we throw them in fire to burn.

Let my living God open your eyes so that you may seek him and listen to him and not perish in eternal flames. God is warning us in Revelation 3:19. The word of God says “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten, be zealous therefore, and repent”. Amen
